Job Description

 
 
The Engineering intern position is in a fast-paced 24x7 GaAs wafer Fab in Woburn MA with the Yield and Integration team. This group is responsible for optimizing the integration of unit processes in the GaAs process flow to maximize the wafer, die yields of the facility and developing analytical tools for the larger process engineering organization to rapidly solve yield problems on existing products and enable the ramp of new products and technologies to high volume production. 
 
The Engineering intern will be mentored by experienced Yield and Integration engineers but will independently develop a new, complementary analytical tool for use by the Woburn process engineering team. The preferred candidate will have a working knowledge of Field Effect Transistor and Bipolar Junction Transistor and basic familiarity with semiconductor process technology but most importantly possess an ability to quickly learn a commercial data analytics package and use it to integrate large volume data streams from multiple sources to develop a novel analytical tool.

Responsibilities

 
•   Gain familiarity with Skyworks Woburn GaAs process flow
•   Quickly gain proficiency with analytical package currently in use
•   Develop a novel analysis tool to help solve an existing yield problem
•   Prepare a presentation for the process team on its capabilities and usage

Requirements

 
•   Currently enrolled in BS/MS/PhD Chemical, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering program
•   Demonstrated proficiency in at least one commercial analytics package 
•   Knowledge of semiconductor process technology, FET, BJT operation
•   Must be able to effectively communicate with other teams
