Position Description
Saint Andrew’s School is seeking a full-time Dance and Theatre Instructor. The Dance and Theatre Instructor is responsible for providing an educational atmosphere where students have the opportunity to fulfill their potential for intellectual, emotional, physical, and spiritual growth; and for organizing and implementing an instructional program that will result in students achieving academic success. This position will be responsible for teaching a combination of Dance and Theatre classes. The instructor will serve as the choreographer for the Lower School, Middle School, and Upper School Musicals, and also choreographs for A Spring Celebration of Dance. A qualified candidate may also have opportunities to direct plays or musicals.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Develop and implement curriculum in alignment with department expectations
- Implement instructional activities that actively engage students in meaningful learning
- Collaborate with departmental colleagues to best support students in the Theatre and Dance productions and performances
- Communicate effectively with students, parents and colleagues on a regular basis
- Create Performing Arts course documentation as determined by the divisional expectations, working to vertically align curriculum
- Collaborate with the Director of Performing Arts to verify student eligibility and communicate course requirements
- Other duties as assigned by the Head of School and Director of Performing Arts
