Administrative Coordinator The Children’s Trust Books for Free Grant Program
Miami Dade College is hiring a consultant to serve as an Administrative Coordinator for The Children’s Trust Books for Free grant. The Administrative Coordinator will monitor book drive collections, oversee data collection and input, manage volunteers, and perform other duties as assigned by the Grant Coordinator for approximately 20-30 hours per week.
Grant Program Summary:
The Children’s Trust Books for Free is a children’s literacy initiative in partnership with The Children’s Trust and Miami Book Fair at Miami Dade College. Our program manages 70+ community bookshelves in locations throughout Miami-Dade County where families visit, such as WIC offices, community action centers, and more, offering free and fun books for children ages 0-8 to encourage parents to read with their children at home, and to help children build their own personal libraries and fall in love with literacy. Rate:
$16.00 – per hour
Scope of Service:
· Ensures data is collected and inputted daily for Children’s Trust records.
· Ensures that all items are prepared and ready for quarterly reports.
· Responds to queries related to community involvement in book drives and helps initiate and
establish relationships.
· Coordinates ongoing, close monitoring of book drive collection sites to ensure timely pickup and
delivery.
· Maintains volunteer database, provides hands-on volunteer recruitment, trains volunteers, and
keeps track of volunteer assignments
· Assures that books are being sorted correctly, deposing of any books that does not meet the project criteria.
Consultants must:
· Possess a High School Diploma or G.E.D. equivalent from a regionally accredited institution.
· Work well in a multi-ethnic and multi-cultural environment.
