TeachCharleston Alternative Certification Program (Teacher Education)
Charleston County School District offers TeachCharleston as an opportunity for bright, talented individuals to pursue a South Carolina teacher certification in middle level or secondary Math, Science, English, or Social Studies, the CTE Academic Areas of Agriculture, Business/Marketing, Computer Science, Family & Consumer Science, and Industrial Technology, in addition to K-12 Art, Music (all areas), French, and Spanish.

Any Student with a conferred Bachelor's Degree or higher and minimum GPA of 2.75 in aligned certification field, 21 credit hours in the desired field of certification, has not completed student teaching.
Cohort training begins Summer 2022; Classroom Teacher beginning August 2022
Eligibility Requirements:
- Holds a conferred bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited college or university with a minimum of 2.75
- GPA or a minimum of 2.75 GPA in courses aligned with certification area
- Has not previously held a teaching certificate or completed student teaching in a traditional teacher preparation program
- Has earned a minimum of 21 credit hours in the desired field of certification area
