Summer Camp Site Supervisor

Position Summary: 

This is an exciting FT (temp) opportunity with the Parks & Recreation Department summer camp program to show off your skills as a Summer Camp Supervisor. Be a part of a summer of fun for the youth of our community. This summer position is part-time and offers a fun and engaging work environment! Pay ranges from $15.03 - $22.55 based on experience. Applicants must be 18+.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Supervise and delegate tasks to summer camp counselors 
  • Develop and implement different daily activities to include sports, team games, arts & crafts, music and life skills
  • Ensure that camp counselors are providing guidance and coaching to children as necessary 
  • Ensure facility is safe and sanitary 
  • Administers first aid, if necessary 

What's required: (Minimum Requirements)

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Must possess or willing to obtain CPR & First Aid Skills prior to start of Summer Camp program
  • Must be available and able to submit fingerprints to obtain DCF clearance within 30 days prior to the start of scheduled 2021 Summer Camp
  • Minimum of one (1) year working with a large group of children in a summer camp environment, day care center/afterschool care, or school setting
  • Minimum of one (1) year supervising staff of a summer camp environment, day care center/afterschool care, or school setting
  • Must attend mandatory staff meeting orientation prior to the start of 2021 Summer Camp (date & time to be provided)
  • Must be able to work within the designated camp scheduled hours with no special exceptions (no leaves during 9-week summer camp period)

What's preferred: (Desired Requirements)

  • Bachelor’s degree or Associate's in education, recreation or physical education
  • Currently possess CPR & First Aid Skills certifications
  • Minimum of three (3) years working with a large group of children in a summer camp environment, day care center/afterschool care, or school setting
  • Minimum of three (3) years supervising staff of a summer camp environment, day care center/afterschool care, or school setting
