Winterfest, Inc. Internship opportunity SUMMER SEMESTER (2 positions available)
Students who complete our internship program develop the necessary skills to succeed in marketing, public relations, hospitality, and event management. Learning from the President & CEO, Event Director, & Marketing & Parade Director, students will assist in the early planning process of a variety events that take place in the fall. Events both public and private (by invite only) leading up to the 51st annual Seminole Hard Rock Winterfest Boat Parade. Including but not limited to digital marketing, social media, list management (mailing, sponsors, vendors etc.)
General responsibilities limited to assisting in these areas:
· General office administration: answer phone calls, copy, input, filing, etc.
· Press Releases to expose events or important information
· Advance planning of fall events to include Event logistics: a full line up of events from private by invitation only, free family day, largest black tie ball in the area (1100+ guests) and our signature boat parade with 100 entries and 12 miles of shoreline
· Online marketing including updating website and all social channels
· Collect a file of all media exposure for Winterfest
· Mass mailings
The perfect candidate will have these qualities:
• Outgoing and personable
• Working Knowledge of wide array of social media, including but not limited to YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and blogs
• Excellent writing and communication abilities including spelling and grammar skills
• Computer skills Microsoft Word, Excel, and Publisher
• Ability to multi task
• Organizational Skills
• College Credit is required
Expected outcome:
Proficient in Excel and all Microsoft programs
Proficient in social media platforms
In depth knowledge of how to create, plan and execute an event
In depth experience interacting with a Board and sponsors (both local and national)
Writing and proofing content for print, radio and television
Manage mail lists
Time Requirement/Compensation:
• One Full Semester (IN PERSON)
• Minimum of 3 days per week (must include Friday) 9am-5pm (plus a few monthly meetings at 5:30pm)
• Daily Stipend + meals
