The Journal of Medical Insight (JOMI) films and publishes peer-reviewed, expert-narrated, high-quality surgical videos creating an unprecedented window into the practice of renowned surgeons. Our goal is to improve and democratize access to surgical education around the world. The journal is already used by numerous institutions including Stanford, Harvard, Johns Hopkins, and others, yet this has been accomplished predominantly through organic traffic (mostly Google). It is time for us to start doing marketing more intentionally to ensure that JOMI content is helping improve patient care. 

About the Role:

JOMI is looking for a Marketing Manager to join our team. This is an intermediate level position, but we are open to recent graduates who have excelled in coursework and previous internships. The current goal is to increase our revenues from $600k in 2021 to $5M by the end of 2022. Thus we are looking to hire someone who is bright and driven, electrified by the thought of growth, and, ideally, wields an understanding and interest in the medical field and clinical outcomes to lead our marketing efforts. This individual would benefit from hands-on involvement in the creation and implementation of our marketing strategies. The ideal candidate is a self starter who thrives in a high-growth environment, effectively solving both strategic and tactical problems with limited oversight.


Responsibilities:
  • Create and execute marketing and communication strategies
  • Manage content and updates on social media, newsletter, blog, ads, PR, and press
  • Provide sales support by running targeted campaigns before/during/after institutional prospect trial periods
  • Identify effectiveness and impact of current marketing initiatives through tracking and analysis, and optimize accordingly
  • Gather customer and market insights to inform outreach strategies
  • Optimize the website to increase conversions (B2B and B2C)
  • Understand target audience (medical students, residents, attending, etc) and engage them creatively
  • Conduct customer interviews to understand how JOMI is used, build case studies, and scale value to other prospects
  • Oversee the management of Google, FB, LinkedIn, YouTube Ad campaigns

Credentials:
  • 2+ years of experience in Marketing and/or proven excellence in coursework
  • Experience with campaign setup, execution, maintenance, and analysis
  • Experience with digital marketing & advertising systems, such as Google Ads and Facebook Ads and LinkedIn Advertising
  • An understanding of sales cycle and goals
  • Proficiency with online marketing, social media strategy, and press outreach
  • Creative copywriting and an eye for visual aesthetics and design
