Job Summary/ Candidate Profile
Brown and Caldwell, a national environmental engineering firm, has an opportunity for a student intern to provide engineering support in their Alexandria office. They are seeking a motivated and achievement-oriented individual looking to gain practical hands-on experience outside of the classroom.

Detailed Description:
As a student intern, you will perform routine engineering support duties requiring professional training but little or no experience. You may be assigned, under close supervision, to simple engineering data analysis, data assessment, data entry and formatting and organizing information for reports. You may also perform basic CAD or GIS input or modifications, and also provide basic project support such as formatting and distributing meeting notes; project filing, field site visits, and other general support of project engineers. The work may also include engineering design tasks such as providing input to design drawings and specifications, and construction related engineering tasks such as reviewing contractor submittals and answering construction related inquiries from the contractor.
 
Desired Skills and Experience:
Must be enrolled in a full-time program (nine credit hours per semester) seeking a bachelor’s degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering.
Must be in good standing and carry an overall GPA of least 3.0 in your core curriculum, as well as a minimum overall GPA of 3.0.
Candidate must be proficient using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Possess good written and verbal communication skills
and have a valid driver’s license/good driving record.
This position has the ability to work from home or within the Alexandria office.
