JOB QUALIFICATIONS
Education:  Associate Degree in graphic design, marketing, or related field, bachelor’s degree preferred.  
 
Skills:  Demonstrated skills in oral and written communication; demonstrated skills in organization and problem solving; able to communicate complex ideas through high quality design that works across a broad range of media; ability to take a project from concept to design to finished product; ability to prepare reports and draft professional business correspondence; strong time-management skills and organizational ability to meet continuous deadlines; flexibility in handling multiple projects simultaneously; excellent grammatical, spelling, composition, and editing skills; ability to produce publications that conform to a prescribed style and format with attention to detail; ability to communicate clearly and courteously by telephone, in person, and in writing; technical proficiency in the use of professional graphic design software tools; and competent knowledge and skills with computer software

Work Experience:  1-3 years in-field experience post-collegiate may include relevant internship experience. High quality design experience demonstrated by portfolio of work.

PRIMARY DUTY
Responsible for developing, directing, and executing on all integrated creative and communication strategies, initiatives, and tactics to achieve the school system’s communication objectives.?This position will support building strategic collateral for district and school use across all communication platforms. Communicate to internal and external audiences in support of the district’s vision, mission, and strategic goals by using design and production techniques to promote a positive image of Richmond County School System, its programs, and local schools.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES (Asterisk for essential job duties):
1.    Develop and enhance the overall look and feel of the RCSS brand.
2.    Design and produce print-ready publications of high quality, with both graphic and editorial integrity, and assist in other design projects as assigned.
3.    Design and edit brochures, logos and signage to provide print ready files for use.
4.    Support RCSS and schools with creative design of materials.
5.    Serve as team member in promoting and maintaining RCSS desired image and the department's reputation for quality.
6.    Research and produce photos and graphic images to use in system's public relations efforts.
7.    Provide technical support within the department.
8.    Assist with other departmental projects, including supporting the development of the print budget and management of the print schedule.
9.    The employee shall carry out such other and further duties, whether specifically listed above or not, as are assigned or required by such employee’s supervisor, other appropriate school personnel, law, board policy, administrative regulation, department handbook, as are reasonably necessary to the efficient operation of the school system and its mission.
