Electrical Intern

ECCS Florida is a well established electrical contractor and engineering firm specializing in new construction and renovation for Institutional, Government and Private sectors. We currently work on million dollar projects for major clients in the Miami, FL region. Our offices are located in the Kendall area.

We are currently looking for a Project Engineer Intern, who will assist in handling various functions in both the Pre-Construction and Construction departments. This position could potentially lead to a full time, salaried role with our company.

Current students and recent graduates are all welcome to apply. There is some flexibility in the work schedule.

Experience:
The ideal candidate would have the ability to apply principles and concepts learned through educational and/or job experience into assisting in project management for commercial and institutional clients.

You should also have a natural ability and desire to build strong relationships with people, as you will work with various entities including clients, government officials, suppliers and more.

Students who are pursuing a degree in Construction Management, Engineering and the likes may be best suited for this position.

Qualifications and Attributes:
Proficiency or knowledge of various construction based software is a plus, or the ability to learn them easily, AutoCad highly desired
Knowledge of NEC and best methods and practices of the electrical industry would be a plus, but not necessary
Skilled with all standard office tools, software, and digital processes.
Strong communications and interpersonal skills.
Discreet, professional, approachable, and well mannered.
Resourceful and capable of effectively negotiating and communicating with clients, vendors, and sub-contractors.
Familiarity with electrical engineering concepts and principles would be a plus, but not required.
Punctual, committed and driven to meet deadlines.
Fluent in English and proficient in Spanish.

As an Intern, you will gain insight into many aspects of the Construction Industry and processes behind managing projects.

Some of your responsibilities will include:

Assiting in preparing drawing preparation
Assisting in the bidding process and preparing proposals
Reading and understanding the construction process based on documents provided.
Assisting in identifying areas for improvement and/or deficiencies in construction documents.
Assisting in the preparation of submittals and RFIs
Reviewing drawings and technical specs
Organizing and managing various databases


The Internship will allow you to engage with many different members of the organization including the Construction Supervisor, Project Manager, foreman and more.
