Interior Design Consultant

By joining us as an Interior Design Consultant you will provide homeowners with state-of-the-art, environmentally responsible technology while using unique building methods. You will also be working with a devoted team to make the client's western North Carolina dream home a reality.
JOB SUMMARY: The Interior Design Consultant will be responsible for offering design guidance and product knowledge to our clients as they make personalized selections for their custom Timber Block home. This is an exciting experience for our clients but can also be a little overwhelming. The Interior Design Consultant will work with clients in assisting them with the color selections and options for interior finishes of the home (flooring, cabinetry, countertops, plumbing fixtures, lighting fixtures, appliances, etc.) while setting expectations regarding time and cost management throughout the process.

Responsibilities:
  • Assess client(s) needs, preferences, and expectations regarding their lifestyle and specific products for their new home.
  • Responsible for scheduling and meeting with client(s) to make all selections for their new home.
  • Advise client(s) on interior design factors, such as space planning, layout and color coordination.
  • Responsible for communicating effectively and professionally with other departments to ensure a seamless customer experience.
  • Provide complete product information detailing performance, durability, and maintenance of client(s) selections.
  • Responsible for the overall satisfaction of the client experience through the selection process.
  • Prepare ARB (Architectural Review Board) submittal packages.
  • Assist in building company photo library of product images, model images, and completed inventory images.
  • Will assist the Home Consultant(s) with new sales administrative duties, including contracts, payment processing, etc.
  • Maintain and update collateral whenever products are discontinued, dropped or replaced.
  • Demonstrates skill in data analysis techniques by resolving missing/incomplete information, inconsistencies or anomalies.
  • Any other related tasks or responsibility as assigned by senior management.
  • Actively participate in company strategic planning and continuous improvement processes.

Qualifications
  • Customer service experience desired and customer service driven attitude is a must.
  • College degree with a focus in Interior Design preferred, but not required.
  • A minimum of 3-years experience in the design field and/or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Detail-focused and highly organized and able to review work-in-progress and identify when to adjust priorities when needed.
  • Confident user of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Power Point) with the ability to learn new software quickly.
  • Strong work ethic, comfortable working in a team environment and independently as necessary.
  • Willing to work 1-2 weekends per month if required.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills are a must and pre-employment screening in these areas are a requirement to be considered.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $40,000.00 - $50,000.00 per year
