Social Media Manager

JOB SUMMARY
 
R+Co is looking for a Social Media Manager to join our marketing team to engage with and grow our communities, while creating and curating exceptional content that inspires, educates and entertains. In this role, you will drive R+Co’s owned community strategy, reinforce R+Co’s visual aesthetic and tone of voice, develop thumb-stopping content, provide a best-in-class customer experience, and collaborate with multiple departments to support 360 marketing plans and brand KPIs. The ideal candidate would have a minimum of 2 years’ experience in social media or content development, preferably in beauty or fashion, and has experience/interest in fostering authentic content creator relationships that drive engagement and brand awareness.
 
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Execute social media and community content and strategy
  • Source, curate, create content across all social platforms, including Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, Twitter, YouTube, Pinterest, Spotify
  • Conceptualize and develop compelling, original content for expanded blogs, how-tos and editorial with engaging, topical captions and creative storytelling
·      Identify, connect and engage with content creators and influential social media personalities (salon professionals, lifestyle, consumer influencers) for partnerships and collaborations
  • Utilize social media software and tools for content planning, tracking and organizing
  • Monitor and report on performance and analytics
  • “Live-From” coverage for social media and web content, including real-time happenings from branded events and sponsorship opportunities
  • Daily engagement and community moderation, responding to comments and customer experience Direct Messages in a timely manner, connecting with various departments to provide recommendations and resolutions including customer service, e-commerce, sales, education and product development.
  • Support with the coordination of mailers, product send outs and partnership requests
  • Constantly explore and evaluate emerging social platforms, tools, services and vendors and provide recommendations
  • Stay aware of key industry and cultural trends, competitive insights and emerging social media/marketing/e-commerce technologies and benchmark and research
 
QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism or equivalent preferred
  • 2+ years’ experience in the social media and digital space, with a solid understanding of and actively engaged in using social media (Instagram, Facebook, Pinterest, Twitter, TikTok, etc.)
  • Desire to create viral content, grow R+Co’s social media communities, and elevate our network of creators
  • Exceptional copywriting skills
  • Basic knowledge of social media performance metrics and reporting
  • On-camera abilities and comfort, as well as basic video editing skills for TikTok, Instagram Reels, Shorts, Stories
  • Proactive problem-solving skills; ability to anticipate obstacles
  • Strong time-management skills; ability to juggle priorities and multiple projects.
  • Collaborative team-player with customer service skills
  • Strategic, innovative thinker willing to push the envelope and bring fresh, innovative ideas to life
  • Willingness and ability to travel
  • Can-do positive attitude and a roll-up-your-sleeves approach; personable and flexible with demands and changes in business.
  • Working knowledge of Canva, design/editing tools and apps for social media content creation 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
 
·      Lifting: Exerting up to 30 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body.
·      Reaching: Extending hands and arms in any direction.
·      Sitting: Must be able to remain in the seated, stationary position throughout workday.
