Position: Civil Engineer/Designer
Department: Engineering
Reports To: Director of Engineering/ Professional Engineers
Summary
A Civil Engineer/Designer at ZNS will perform, supervise, and coordinate professional civil engineering work in the office and in the field, and perform related work as required for land development projects. They will be mentored and trained by a Licensed Professional Engineer.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Professional and technical engineering with direction from a Licensed Professional Engineer
• Engineering design and review
• Plan production related to land development design
• Review of plans and documents for quality assurance purposes
• Providing value-oriented design suggestions
• Project management for commercial and residential developments
Required Qualifications
• Proven technical ability with engineering principles and practices
• Experience and proficiency with AutoCAD plan production, including:
o Water and wastewater distribution systems
o Surface water management systems
o Drainage systems
o Roadways
o Any other similar land development related design
• Experience and proficiency with Microsoft Office, specifically Outlook, Word, Excel and
PowerPoint
• Experience with construction and final site plan preparation for review by local governmental agencies
• Minimum of Two (2) years of relevant experience with land development projects
