Interior Design Associate

The Associate Designer will assist in the creation of functional, safe, and aesthetically pleasing spaces by assessing space requirements, determining optimal furniture placement, and selecting decorative items, all while adhering to relevant blueprint, building code, and inspection requirements.

  • Update furniture selection in AutoCAD drawings
  • Assist with progress between designers and PM team
  • Assist and organize the Design presentation
  • Maintains current knowledge of trends and materials, techniques, and other developments in interior design.
  • Assist during staging and accessorizing during final installation.
  • Review proposals for accuracy and submit to Project Manager
  • Gather quotes for all selections and submit for proposal
  • Provide team with site photos from each visit.
  • Assist in detailed workorders for upholstery, drapery, lighting, furniture, or any custom pieces.
  • Specify details for all selections
  • Maintain selections and schemes in catalog sheets
  • Assist with fabric schemes and furnishing selections
  • Create furniture plans as needed
  • Maintain project bins
  • Organize, coordinate, and maintain resource library.
  • Order fabric samples
Experience:
  • Proven excellent written and verbal communication, computer, and creative skills.
  • Good graphic presentation
  • Advanced knowledge of furniture, fixture, and equipment (FF&E) architectural/interior finishes, lighting, color, and material to carry out design intent.
  • Ability to use Photoshop, In Design, AutoCAD, Microsoft office products.
  • Ability to work well under pressure, juggle and prioritize multiple projects and adjust work accordingly, often against tight deadline.
  • Good understanding of construction terms, scheduling, and planning concepts. 
  • Good time management, organizational presentation, and interpersonal skills
  • Bachelor’s degree required.
