Digital Communications Specialist

Digital Communication Specialist Position for 2022-2023
The Digital Communication Specialist reports to the Director of Marketing and Communications within the Advancement Office and provides support in producing and executing the school marketing plan, as well as creating digital content for internal and external communications.
 
Position Description
Saint Andrew’s School recognizes the importance of a robust and mission–correct digital presence in building the school’s brand and enhancing communication among its key target audiences. This position requires a dynamic, flexible, detail-oriented self-starter to play a key role in both internal and external marketing communication efforts. The Digital Communications Specialist is responsible for creating digital-related content (video, photo, social media) for the school that increases brand loyalty.
 
Primary Responsibilities
  • Support the execution of the school’s marketing plan and strategy
  • Develop and disseminate timely visual digital and written content for school website, school intranet, and Internet
  • Produce dynamic video packages highlighting the Saint Andrew’s experience
  • Create news content for and manage school’s social media channels (Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, LinkedIn, etc.)
  • Take digital photography of school events and happenings for promotional purposes
  • Collaborate with staff on identifying and executing new initiatives for marketing and communications
  • Assist with design creation for social media and publications
  • Assist with crisis communications as needed
  • Additional related duties as assigned
 
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in related field (MultiMedia Communications, Video Production, Marketing/Communications, Journalism, PR, Graphic Design) and 1-3 years’ experience; or commensurate work-related/internship experience
  • Effective written communicator
  • Experience in video filming and post-production using tools such as Final Cut Pro, Adobe Premiere, or iMovie
  • Firm grasp of available tools and platforms in the social media space and experience in social media posting
  • Experience in digital photography
  • Experience in graphic design using Adobe or online tools such as Canva.com
  • Fluent in web content management systems a plus
  • Similar work with an independent school, college/university, or PR Firm is a plus
  • Appreciation and enthusiasm for Saint Andrew’s School’s mission and values and the ability to incorporate them in communications across media types
  • A warm, empathetic demeanor and a collaborative and flexible nature
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Strong work ethic and integrity
  • Experience with diverse cultural populations and age groups
