Middle School English Teacher
Hillside School, a Junior Boarding School serving grades 4-9, is seeking an enthusiastic English teacher with a strong academic background and passion for teaching middle school students beginning in September 2022. The ideal candidate is able to tailor instruction to help students develop interest and excitement for the subject matter and to differentiate instruction based on individual needs to help every student achieve academic success.
This candidate should be prepared to teach middle school English to all levels of learners in grades 7-9. Points of emphasis in the curriculum include literature, writing skills, grammar, vocabulary development, and public speaking. Other desired qualifications include being a team player, a sense of humor, and a creative and positive approach to teaching.
Qualified candidates should embrace boarding school life. They must be willing to teach a full schedule (16-20 periods per week), coach two seasons of sports, and reside on campus covering scheduled dorm duties on evenings and weekends.
