Grade 7-8 Spanish Teacher / Language Arts/Social Studies Teacher - Roseway Heights MS (Spanish Immersion)

Roseway Heights is a richly diverse middle school in Northeast Portland Oregon. With around 600 students in grades 6-8 with 60% students of color. Beyond rigorous academic classes, students are provided art, music, PE, technology, and Spanish elective classes. There is a SUN program offering a wide array of afterschool programing. RWH has the first Vietnamese Dual Language Immersion program in the state for K and 1st grade. AVID is being introduced schoolwide with the focus to ensure all of our students are prepared for the next level and are college and career ready when they leave high school.

POSITION SUMMARY:
The classroom teacher performs under supervision of a principal or other designated supervisor and has major responsibility for the instruction and supervision of students. Instruction of students shall include individual skill development, expansion of knowledge, and development of ability to reason. Supervision of students shall include guidance, development and safety. The classroom teacher functions in accordance with the established policies, rules, regulations and the performance standards of the District/State and the performance goals established for the teacher.

LICENSE REQUIREMENT: Must hold a full unrestricted teaching license issued by the Teacher Standards & Practices Commission (TSPC) 

COMPENSATION: $50,020 TO $97,333 (Annual salary based on 1.0 FTE)

WORK YEAR: 192 days

FTE: 1.0 (full-time)
