Commissioning Intern - Summer 2023

Our ideal Commissioning Intern assists delivery of building commissioning on office, multi-family, industrial, and specialty buildings in conjunction with our consulting team. Our ideal candidate has knowledge of building mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems and is excited to learn more. This intern is detail focused, responsive, dependable, and is self-driven once a task is outlined for them. The position has a strong internal peer group and a culture of collaboration to help grow interns’ knowledge, while still moving project work forward.  
Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the commissioning and process on diverse projects, new and existing
  • Manage several Cx process tasks that are in various stages of design, construction, and warranty periods Tasks will include prepping equipment submittal reviews, creating master equipment lists, creating equipment checklists, assisting on project site visits, assisting with onsite or virtual equipment testing, and creating agendas and/or meeting minutes.
  • Create on-time task assignments for support and senior commissioning engineers

Subject Matter Interests
  • Interest in helping buildings save energy
  • Interest in Mechanical, Plumbing and Lighting systems design and operation
  • Interest in the LEED deliverable suite: Owner’s Project Requirements, Cx specifications, Commissioning Plans, DD and CD Commissioning Design Reviews
  • Interest in LEED BD+C and LEED EB+M Rating Systems
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
Required
The technically knowledgeable candidate must work well with diverse groups and interests and have demonstrated expertise.
  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Architectural Engineering
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and technical writing skills
  • Strong ability to organize tasks
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel
