Project Engineering Intern Overview
Envision spending your summer working with energetic colleagues and inspirational leaders, all while gaining world-class experience in one of the most dynamic organizations in the pharmaceutical industry. This is a reality for AbbVie’s Experiential Interns.
This internship will revolve around the management of ongoing capital construction and renovation projects at the Abbvie Worcester facilities. The internship will expose the student to fundamental project management and engineering tasks supporting construction and renovation of various laboratory rooms and equipment, utility systems, and GMP manufacturing facilities.
Key responsibilities include:
  • Participate in reviewing active projects for contractor EHS performance
  • Walk down utility systems and drawings to highlight impacts and changes
  • Review engineering documents and specifications to ensure projects meet Abbvie requirements
  • Participate in weekly project team meetings with internal stakeholders and external contractors
  • Assist in developing project scope, budget estimate, and schedules with project manager
 
Minimum Qualifications 
  • Currently enrolled in university, pursuing a Bachelor’s in construction management, engineering, or other related field
  • Must be returning to university the semester following your internship
  • Expected graduation date between June 2025 and June 2026

Preferred Qualifications (Optional)
  • Exposure to construction project management 
  • Exposure to specification and design document generation and review
