Social Media and Audiovisual Coordinator

What We’re Looking For
Baylor University’s Arts and Sciences is seeking a full time Social Media and Audiovisual Coordinator. As the Social Media and Audiovisual Coordinator, you will be up-to-date with the latest digital technologies, cameras and social media trends with a drive to continue learning the ever-evolving platforms and technology. You should have excellent communication skills and be able to express the views of Baylor University and the College of Arts & Sciences creatively. Ultimately, you should be able to handle our social media presence, videography and editing and photography, ensuring high levels of user engagement and web traffic. Additionally, the successful candidate will demonstrate the following:
  • Understanding of the needs of a diverse student population within a Christian higher education setting and an openness to cultural humility.
  • Expert understanding of social media platforms
  • Excellent social listening skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication (storytelling) skills
  • Advanced graphic and visual design skills
  • Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign and PremierePro, in particular), digital media formats and HTML
  • Excellent video and production and editing skills
  • Working knowledge of digital photography
  • Ability to record, edit and encode audio files (as used in podcasts) a plus
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and work with minimal supervision
  • Be successful communicating and interacting with all campus populations including students, faculty, and staff.

A Bachelor’s degree, up to 1-3 years of relevant work experience running professional social media accounts and producing outstanding video and online audiovisual content, and an active Christian faith are required. A Master’s degree and four years of relevant work experience are preferred. Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.

What You Will Do
  • Be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the College’s social media platforms (including Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn)
  • Create engaging content for use across Arts & Sciences’ social media platforms, but with a special eye toward videos, photos and graphics
  • Work with the Director of Marketing and Communications to develop, implement and review social media strategy
  • Research and write content for Arts & Sciences social media platforms
  • Interact with users and respond to social media messages, inquiries and comments
  • Attend campus events and produce photographic and social media content, including occasional live content
  • With input from the Director of Marketing and Communications, create and maintain the College’s social media calendar
  • Monitor social media traffic and report on analytics showing the effectiveness of social media communications in addressing the goals of the College toward target audiences
  • Stay up to date with social media messages and industry trends and make recommendations to enhance the College’s platforms accordingly
  • Make use of Search Engine Optimization on all platforms
  • Assist in the development and management of social media marketing strategy and influencer marketing strategy
  • Use software to create engaging and professional visuals that support College messaging and events, including infographics and announcements
  • Hire, train and supervise student interns each semester, when applicable
  • May occasionally be tasked with writing posts on the Arts & Sciences blog and articles for Arts & Sciences publications, including Baylor Arts & Sciences magazine
  • Travel domestically on occasion as position requires
  • Perform all other duties as assigned to support Baylor’s mission
