Accounting/SEC Reporting Intern
POSITION SUMMARY
Bloomin’ Brands, the parent company to Outback Steakhouse, Carrabba’s Italian Grill, Bonefish Grill, Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse & Wine Bar and Aussie Grill, is seeking an intern who is currently pursuing a career in accounting. This opportunity will allow a student to apply their education to practical business issues as they prepare financial statements, perform financial presentation tie-out procedures, support SEC (Form 10-Q) reporting procedures, and perform disclosure-related calculations.
PRIMARY PROJECTS / TASKS & RESPONSABILITIES
- Drafting the 401k financial statements - ERISA required financial statements for our benefit plan that are filed annually with the department of labor
- Performing tie-out procedures for investor presentations, website disclosures, and press releases
- Supporting our Q2 2023 From 10-Q reporting process, including:
- Compiling support files and updating disclosures
- Performing tie-out procedures over the 10-Q, earnings release and/or earnings call script
- Completing supporting processes, including certifications, related party and going concern documentation
- Performing our annual public float calculation - SEC required annual disclosure calculated as of the end of the second quarter
REQUIRED SKILLS
- Pursuing a Bachelor's or Graduate Degree in Accounting
- Has strong analytical and organizational skills
- Has good interpersonal skills and professional demeanor
- Has positive attitude and ability to work with a sense of urgency
- Is proficient in MS Excel
PREFERRED SKILLS
- Active CPA candidate preferred
