Editorial Intern
I'm currently searching for spring'23 editorial interns to assist with three titles under Modern Luxury Media—Philadelphia Style magazine, Boston Common magazine and Modern Luxury D.C. magazine. If you are interested and qualified, please contact me at mduddy@modernluxury.com. Also, please feel free to share with any undergraduate students that may be a match. All details are listed below! Thank you.
Editorial interns volunteer directly with Modern Luxury's Philadelphia, Boston and DC editors, and gain invaluable experience from producing publications for all three markets. This internship is hands-on and intensive, and is only suitable for a student who has a strong interest in magazine journalism. Previous experience is not a must, but preferred, as this is a fast-paced environment. Candidates must be fast learners, have can-do attitudes and a strong written voice. The ability to multi-task is an absolute must. Some responsibilities include, but are not limited to: fact-checking, story research, pitching, writing and transcribing. Interns with exceptional writing skills will have the possibility of being published in print. Interns are an extension of our editorial team—only those that have the ability to take on the internship with a serious, professional and dedicated manner should apply.
IDEAL CANDIDATE:
Strong writing/journalistic abilities
Research skills
Fact-checking experience (not a must, but preferred)
Strong communication skills
Knowledge of AP style
General or fluent knowledge of one or all of the markets
Reliable, trustworthy and deadline-driven
All applicants MUST be eligible for academic credit, and MUST be enrolled in an undergraduate program at a college or university. Until further notice, the internship is remote. Office hours are 2-3 days per week, 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. (hours are flexible based on student's schedule) This is an unpaid internship.
