Landscape Architectural Designer
Position summary: JMT is seeking an entry level Landscape Architect to join our York/Harrisburg Team. The individual will serve a key role in supporting planning and designing spaces for a wide variety of projects including parks and recreation, public open spaces, education, planning, environmental restoration, transportation, and green infrastructure.
Essential functions and responsibilities:
· Provide design and technical support and assistance to project team, Senior Landscape Architects and/or Project Managers on design, planning, and construction projects.
· Assists, with supervisory input and oversight, in the preparation of Feasibility Studies, Master Plans, Pedestrian/Bicycle Facilities Planning and Design, Concept Studies, and Corridor Plans, Construction Documents, and Technical Reports.
· Conduct research and perform site reviews and analyzes.
· Creating/contributing content including text, illustrations, infographics, maps, 3-D models, and other graphic visualizations for proposals, reports, memoranda, presentations, conceptual drawings, maps, and graphics - for technical and non-technical audiences.
· Collaborate/prepare illustrative renderings and presentations.
· Participates in preparation of public involvement strategies and materials and participate in public/stakeholder outreach and engagement activities.
· Generate concept drawings and sketches.
· Prepare construction documents, details, cost estimates and specification packages

Qualifications required:
· Bachelor’s degree in Landscape Architecture from an accredited program
· General understanding of site design and permit and construction plan preparation using AutoCAD and AutoCAD Civil 3D
· Proficiency or familiarity with AutoCAD, and AutoCAD Civil 3D, Adobe Creative Suite (including Photoshop, Illustrator & Indesign), 3D Modeling software (Sketchup, Rhino, Lumion or some other software), GIS mapping software (ESRI products), PowerPoint, and Microsoft Office
· Attention to detail, written and oral communication skills
Qualifications preferred:
· Related experience
· Proficiency in Adobe Creative suite applications
Working Conditions:
Work is performed within a general office environment 95% of the time but does require site visits. Work is generally sedentary in nature, but may require occasional standing and walking. Lighting and temperature are adequate and there are no hazardous or unpleasant conditions caused by noise, dust, etc. within the office environment. Work sometimes requires availability in the evenings and on weekends to participate in public engagement activities.
Field work is required on occasion where work may be conducted outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions. Field work will require walking and carrying field equipment over typical outdoor terrain. Some lifting (up to 25 lbs) may be required as needed.
