Systems Administrator Engineer

Summary: Responsible for technical support and administration of broadcast systems. The work will range from providing specialized technical support for Studio, Master Control and post-production workstations and servers, to managing the deployment of broadcast-related computer hardware and software solutions for the department.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
· Establish procedures and standards for operation and maintenance of equipment
· Manage and troubleshoot Broadcast IT systems and network cabling and interfacing, nonlinear editing systems, playout broadcast systems, media asset management systems , transcoding systems and other miscellaneous equipment and systems related to Broadcast Post-Production environment.
· Manage the file system and responsible to maintain this.
· Responsible to prepare documentation and to verify the proper operator’s use of the equipment related to Post-Production environment and other IT Broadcast Systems.
· Establish procedures for testing of equipment, performance of preventative maintenance activities, and operation of equipment during test of Emergency Production system
· Direct and coordinate equipment modification activities to prevent interruptions in operations
· Work with Production and other departments to assess editing needs
· Installation and setup of systems related to the operations
· Workflow creation upon needs
· Ability to lift at least 50lbs

QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS:
· Experience in Broadcast
· Bachelor’s degree in IT, Communications, Film, Photography, or a related field
· 5+ years of operations or technical support experience within a video, and/or post-production studio environment.
· Technical expertise in supporting end-to-end production workflows for video and post-production.
· A high level of understanding of Studio and Creative Services use cases for: Creative software (e.g., Adobe CC, Avid Media Composer, Avid Pro Tools) Digital and Media Asset Management (DAM / MAM) systems Production management and technical support systems (Jira) Expert-level ability to troubleshoot and administer Windows and Macintosh workstations.
· IT certifications are a big plus
· General networking knowledge including Ethernet, Fibre Channel, switching and how it operates in Windows, Mac OS X, and Network Attached Storage environments.

· Willingness to work overtime, and on weekends with short notice.
· Must be willing to submit to a background investigation.
· Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States.
· Must be 18 years or older.
· Must be available to work all shifts, including early mornings, evenings, holidays, weekends, late breaking news and hurricane emergencies.
· Must be willing to travel as needed, sometimes on short notice.
· Must be willing to facilitate personnel requirements including late and/or last minute scheduling changes in a 24/7 production work environment.
