Camp Counselor
Effective camp counselors are positive role models, problem solvers who think outside the box, and people who want to help shape and impact the next generation of leaders and musicians. Our counselors should be proactive, looking to prevent issues before they arise and are willing to step in to help when things inevitably come up. We ask our counselors to remember, “If not you, who?”
Aside from campers, counselors are the most important part of a summer camp. They play perhaps the largest role in if a camper enjoys their time at LMC and we take care to hire a diverse team of counselors who will give our campers the best possible experience. That being said, the counselors also have some of the hardest jobs on camp. The job is demanding of your time and you are responsible for the safety of our campers.
Each counselor and their assigned campers will eat meals together, participate in cabin- in evening wrap up activities, and live in the same cabin, with counselors having a separate room and bathroom. While you will be directly assigned to 4-8 students, our staff works as a team to provide the best experience for all of our students. All counselors will assist in planning and facilitating events for students during the sessions, as well as run daily activity stations during recreation hour.
