Production Intern at Gimlet Media

We’re looking for a full-time summer intern to join Gimlet’s Development team that is responsible for producing pilots and launching new show concepts. We are looking for someone who’s eager to learn the ins and outs of making pilots and podcasts- including participating in story ideation and pitch reviews, conducting production tasks like interview prep and research, and assisting in interactive and social initiatives.

What you'll do:
  • Fact-check scripts and research topics
  • Log tape and perform basic audio editing tasks
  • Listen to interviews and select the best tape in ProTools and Descript
  • Shadow the editing and writing process
  • Write copy for the web and social media and post in distribution tools

Who you are
  • A current undergraduate or graduate student planning to graduate in 2024
  • You currently have valid work authorization to work in the country in which this role is based that will extend from June to August 2023
  • A passion and interest in storytelling, preferably in podcasting and investigative journalism
  • A love of collaboration and teamwork
  • An interest in research, writing, and reporting
