This job starts out as a part-time, hourly position from March through the end of May. This will be mostly remote for 15 - 20 hours a week. This time frame will be referred to as the planning period. The purpose of this time is to plan out the summer: set up interviews for camp counselors, create a daily camper schedule, plan curriculum, field trips, etc.

The candidate will be required to be available in person for interviews and counselor training starting April 17th.

The position will transition into a full-time, salaried position starting May 22. The main role at this point is both supervisory, managerial and administrative.

WHO WE ARE:

We are a small, rural church in Belle Glade, FL., that believes in the importance of our Summer Camp ministry. This is a 7 week daily camp, ran Monday- Friday, open from 7:45 a.m. - 5:15 p.m. The start date is May 29th. We will be closed the week of the Fourth of July, and our final day of camp is July 21st. The camp director and assistant director will work to organize and clean up after camp, with their last day of work potentially being Tuesday, July 25th.

We are open for kids K3-entering 6th grade. We cap out at 40 students, each week usually averages 25-35 students. Our goal is to provide a safe, fun place for kids to make memories during the summer, all while learning life skills and hearing about God's love for them.

While this candidate will work under the supervision of the children's pastor, they need to be able to be self-sufficient, organized, self-motivated, and task oriented. We honor integrity and honesty, and expect our workers to be above reproach in both areas. The ideal candidate will be highly energetic, with a talent-- even a love! -- for organizing paperwork, time and people.

The ideal candidate is someone with a fun-loving nature who has a solid understanding of Scripture and is highly organized. That cannot be stressed enough. Our preference is that they are majoring in children's ministries, elementary education or something similar.
