Freeform Social & Synergy Intern, Summer/Fall 2023

A day in the life…
The Freeform Social & Synergy internship will immerse the intern in the broad world of Marketing & Creative with a focus on social strategy, creative, and synergy (internal Disney partners) This internship will prime the intern for a career in marketing, across any industry, but especially entertainment.

As our intern, you may:
Contribute to the development and execution of marketing campaigns with a focus on social media, and synergy.

Assist synergy and social media managers with but not limited to:
  • Brainstorming & ideation on social concepts
  • Organizing social assets and files
  • Coordination of synergy requests
  • Calendaring and roll out of social assets
  • Social asset scheduling
  • Pulling key metrics and fan sentiment for social campaigns
  • Identifying trends in the social space
  • Track competitive & consumer insights and prepare presentations for the wider team.
  • Assistance across multi-platform synergy (internal Disney partners) and third-party marketing plans.
  • Assist with creating recap decks and reports.
  • Attend cross-department and network meetings to learn how an entertainment company operates.
  • Meet with our colleagues across Marketing & Creative, other Freeform departments, and other Disney departments to gain insights into their day-to-day roles and more.
  • Work on additional marketing & creative projects as needed.

What you bring to the role…
  • Strong knowledge of and interest in Freeform content and passion for The Walt Disney Company.
  • Passion for the social media space & pop culture/entertainment
  • Interest in emerging Gen Z trends and social platforms
  • Proven ability to handle multiple projects in a fast-paced environment, strong organizational skills.
  • Copywriting skills and an ability to flex different voice and tones.
  • Strong creative instincts and judgment.
  • Strong written and verbal skills, excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to work well within highly collaborative, multidisciplinary teams across various departments.
  • Strong computer skills including Google Docs, Keynote, PowerPoint, and basic photo/video editing.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • At the time of the internship—undergraduate student entering their Junior or Senior year, or a recent graduate within six months of graduation.
  • Previous experience at an entertainment brand or company.

The pay rate for this internship in California is $21.20 per hour.

Additional Information:
  • Must be enrolled in an accredited college/university taking at least one class in the semester/quarter (spring/fall) prior to participation in the internship program OR must have graduated from a college/university within 6 months OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Professional Internship​
  • Must be at least 18 years of age​
  • Must not have completed one year of continual employment on a Disney internship or program. ​
  • Must possess unrestricted work authorization​
  • Must be able to have a consistent, reliable work schedule throughout the session​
  • Program length-- The approximate dates of this internship are June 2023 through January 2024
  • Work details-- Must be fully available full-time (40 hours) per week for the duration of the internship.
  • Housing-- Must provide own housing for the duration of internship program​ in the Burbank, CA area
  • Transportation-- Must have reliable transportation to/from work​
