Corporate Communications Seasonal Intern


Job Description
We’re currently looking for a Corporate Communications Seasonal Intern to join our team at our manufacturing plant in Smyrna, Tennessee. This role is seasonal and will allow for 20 to 40 hours of work, depending on class load, for up to one year. The role will be hybrid, allowing for on-site and remote work.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Support written and graphic content of internal communication tools – weekly newsletter, slides for closed-circuit TV, employee app, etc.
  • Support 40-year Smyrna plant anniversary milestone with employee profiles, in-plant billboard content, video script drafts and other content.
  • Lead or assist in the planning and implementation of employee engagement activities and programs, including annual United Way Giving Campaign, Habitat for Humanity build, Nissan Family Day, plant-wide food drives and scholarship programs.
  • Provide Nissan TV editorial and programming support (frequent graphic slide production, occasional video production support where appropriate).
  • Coordinate online surveys and signups for employee contests.
  • As necessary, perform other related duties of which the above are representative.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING

  • Strong communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Intermediate to advanced storytelling through written pieces and video scripting.
  • Proficiency or interest in becoming proficient in graphic creation – promotional signage, posters etc. 
  • Self-motivation, creativity, and enthusiasm for collaborating and working with others.
  • Ability to work creatively within the limitations of what best serves our customers.
  • Strong attention to detail and organization.
  • Professionalism to deal with confidential information.
  • Ability to juggle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Strong ownership and accountability - able to roll-up your sleeves and make things happen.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • An open-minded approach and eagerness to learn!

In order to qualify for this role, you must:

  • Currently be pursuing a Graduate Degree in Corporate Communications, Public Relations, Journalism or a related field.
  • Have a GPA of 3.0 or above.
  • Strong communication skills both written and oral
