JOB SUMMARY
This position is responsible for monitoring and maintaining the technical and operational functions of the computer systems at the Lake County Sheriffs Office.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES
Updates the security and anti-virus software.
Completes the hardware/software audit and ensures accurate inventory.
Assists in maintaining Active Directory.
Provides end user support and training.
Provides help desk support.
Assists in maintaining the servers and network infrastructure.
Implements an organization's technical infrastructure, including client computers, laptops, and handhelds.
Diagnosing and troubleshooting problems with PCs, servers, laptops, and handhelds.
Performing preventative maintenance on PCs, servers, laptops, and handhelds.
ADDITIONAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES
Handles documentation writing including manuals and memos.

Lake County Courthouse and Board of County Commissioners
State and local Police Departments and FHP
DCF & State Attorneys Office.
General public to include private citizens and businesses
Governmental and Municipal entities.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High School diploma or general education degree (GED); Associates degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field; or one (1) year information technology experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Current Technical Certifications including Comptia A +, Network +, Security +, Linux +, Server +, Project +, Cisco CCNA, Redhat RHCT, or RHCE can substitute for formal education and or experience.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES and REGISTRATIONS
Must possess a valid Florida driver's license.
Must maintain CJIS certification.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIES
Must be able to comprehend and communicate fluently in verbal and written English.
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures and some computer programming codes.
Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals.
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, vendors and other employees.
Must have excellent computer skills to include word processing, spreadsheet and database applications.
Must have the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees on technical and non-technical matters.
Must be able to manage and prioritize multiple projects and tasks from start to finish.
Must have strong working knowledge of systems administration to include security, backups, configuration and troubleshooting.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
Work is performed in a standard office setting. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Depending on assignment, the employee may be required to work long and/or irregular work hours, including evenings and/or weekends. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to vibration and occasionally exposed to the risk of electrical shock.

8:00am-5:00pm M-F (plus rotating on-call)
