The Outer Banks Hospital is a full-service critical access hospital offering a wide range of inpatient and outpatient services. The 21-bed facility is designed to meet the needs of the coastal community, whose year-round population of approximately 35,000 swells to about 350,000 in the summer season. Its campus includes four ORs, a medical/surgical unit, a labor & delivery suite with a dedicated caesarian section OR, a full rehabilitation therapy center, cancer treatment and radiation therapy center, and a 24-hour emergency department.

Position Summary
A relationship builder and versatile communicator who is excellence driven, focused on solutions and is passionate about high-quality outcomes, the Digital Content Specialist is a seasoned strategist, creative thinker and storyteller. Understanding the value of communications, this team member effectively tells the overarching ECU Health story in a compelling way that drives engagement, awareness and change among different stakeholders.
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Journalism, English, Communications or Public Relations.

Three to four years of professional experience required.

Proven results in developing and implementing digital communications. Exemplary communication skills (written and verbal), with experience in editorial judgment, branded content understanding, experience and technical skills. Working knowledge of market dynamics, current marketing/communications principles, digital, social and traditional formats required. Experience working with website content management systems. Creative mindset to problem solving and communication tactics. Strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to work in and support a matrix relationship with dual (system and care site) accountability.
Practical knowledge of AP style.
