Field Engineer Intern - Miami, FL

Daniel O'Connell's Sons has a summer internship opportunity for an assistant field engineer on a project located at the Trinity College campus in Hartford, CT. Please note the start and end dates shown are approximate; actual start and end dates are flexible based upon actual school schedule and availability.

Position Summary
Under the supervision of the Project Superintendent and Field Engineers you will provide supporting role in all field activities. You will be required to adhere to all Daniel O’Connell’s Sons safety procedures and policies. 
 
Essential Job Responsibilities
  • Assist with Surveying and Layout.
  • Complete Daily Reports.
  • Complete Daily Safety Reports. 
  • Complete Daily Progress Photos.
Position Qualifications
  • Basic Understanding of Construction Drawings and Specifications. 
  • Basic Understanding of Surveying.
  • Basic Understanding of Unit Conversions. 
  • Ability to follow instructions. 
  • Ability to work independently. 
Education & Experience 
  • Currently enrolled in an accredited higher education institution seeking a degree in Engineering, Project Management or similar technical experience.
  • References Upon Request
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Bluebeam/Adobe. Basic understanding of AutoCAD preferred.
  • Driver’s License is preferred.
 
Working Conditions 
The working conditions of this position requires the employee to work both inside and outside, 
traverse a construction site, utilizing stairs, ladders, etc. and utilize personal protective equipment.
