Position Description:
Alcon is looking for a driven student to assist the Facilities Engineering Team in John’s Creek with a variety of tasks, including working with utility systems such as Electrical Power, Water and Air Distribution. A successful candidate will be able to work independently with supervision and is not afraid to leave their desk behind to work in a construction environment. 

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Must be enrolled in an accredited university or college for at least one semester prior to co-op, and at least one additional semester following your co-op.
  • Must be pursuing at least a Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Civil Engineering, or related major.
  • Academic performance: Minimum cumulative GPA 2.8/4.0
  • Demonstrated leadership skills (i.e. extracurricular activities or projects)
  • Must be authorized to work in the US on a permanent basis. Students on an F1 visa with CPT work authorization may be accommodated.
  • Ability to commit to the fall semester, full time (40 hours per week) co-op

Preferred Qualifications:
  • The ability to read and understand architectural and engineering drawings, especially Piping & Instrumentation Drawings
  • Good working knowledge of AutoCad or VersaCad drawing systems
  • Experience solving design problems
  • Experience in Facilities a plus

Ability to work in a Team environment. With guidance provided the successful candidate will have the ability to utilize analytical skills to solve problems and complete assigned projects.
