Newsroom Executive Producer

We are currently seeking an energetic and creative Executive Producer to oversee news content for overall fairness, balance and accuracy. In this role, you will produce daily newscast and oversee production of newscasts and special programming. You will lead a team of producers on creating and executing unique, compelling content as well as possessing a strong writing and storytelling background and has forward thinking attitude coupled with the ability to think big picture. Responsibilities:
· Oversee content and presentation across all platforms (broadcast/digital/social)
· Develop and nurture skills and innovation among staff
· Manage and train other producers
· Supervise writing of content
· Special projects
· Planning and overseeing continuity into upcoming newscasts
· Other responsibilities as assigned
· This position reports to the News Director
Qualifications:
· A four-year degree in journalism or communications is preferred
· A minimum of 2 years of related experience is required
· Demonstration of strong news and editorial judgement and a high standard of journalistic ethics
· Strong writing skills and a proven track record for getting results on initiatives
· Great people skills with an emphasis on coaching and motivating
· Must have experience managing anchors, reporters and producers
· Ability to listen and assess challenges and opportunities to find solutions and implement change
· Must have strong organizational and communication skills
· At least 4 years of experience in broadcast journalism as a producer, or equivalent experience
