Non-Profit Marketing Strategies Manager

Who We Are:
Our mission is to share our love of classical and contemporary orchestra and chamber music with the community. We take pride in presenting meaningful and challenging orchestral works that rival the programming of large professional orchestras. DC Strings Workshop works to build community and expand horizons by engaging diverse audiences, supplying instruments to deserving students, and working to expose students and adults alike to music of women and underrepresented people of color. What We Are Looking For:
We are looking to add fun, productive, and ambitious candidates that we can train and develop internally to take over the Marketing Strategies Manager role from our current Campaign Manager. The ideal candidate is looking to make a difference in their community via face-to-face engagement and is not afraid to speak to potential donors or the general public at large. As a non-profit orchestra, November through January is our busiest season of the year. We are looking for candidates who are excited to help document, showcase, and secure donations for us to continue all of our amazing work within our community.  

Role Description: 
We are looking for a Marketing Strategies Manager to oversee all of our fundraising team and sales staff. Marketing Strategies Manager responsibilities include formulating overall strategy, managing people and establishing policies, training, and developing of our Non-Profit fundraising team, able to teach and train team members in client acquisition, and donor retention. To be successful in this role, you should be a thoughtful leader and a confident decision-maker, helping our people develop and be productive while ensuring our profits are on the rise. Ultimately, you’ll help our company grow and thrive. Training will be provided by the current Campaign Manager and a 3-month probation period will be implemented before taking over roles and responsibilities. We are willing to train and develop the right candidate for the role but candidates must be willing to learn and develop their marketing portfolio to include: in-house, back-end, general public engagement, basic sales, and general leadership.



Responsibilities

  • Oversee day-to-day operations,
  • Attend concerts, events, galas, or other performances of our non-profit
  • Design strategy and set goals for the growth and development of the team
  • Ensure employees work productively and develop professionally
  • Oversee recruitment and training of new employees
  • Evaluate and improve operations and financial performance
  • Direct the employee assessment process
  • Prepare regular reports for upper management
  • Ensure staff follows health and safety regulations
  • Provide solutions to issues (e.g. profit decline, employee conflicts, loss of business to competitors)
  • Train incoming sales staff and non-profit coordinators
  • Development of a strong fundraising team through the holiday season
