Packaging Engineer Intern
Packaging Engineer Internship starting July 2023!
Refresco, the leading global independent beverage solutions provider, is looking to hire a Packaging Engineer Intern for Summer & Fall semesters 2023! The 6-month internship located in Tampa, Florida will take place starting in mid-July and would conclude before the start of the Spring semester. Housing alliance is included for this role.
The critical functions for the position include: supporting project management workflow and packaging inquiries, creating pallet specifications, completing customer packaging data sheets, and managing plant capability database and packaging specification databases.; coordinating packaging qualification tests with Suppliers, plants and Quality.
Internship Requirements:
The Packaging Engineer Intern will have completed at least three (3) years of studies, including some packaging coursework and must be currently pursuing a Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college/university majoring in an Engineering related field.
The ideal candidate will be based in our Tampa Corporate Office and must provide his/her own transportation. During the employment period, Refresco will provide financial assistance with housing arrangements.
Job Duties:
Among other projects, the Packaging Engineer Intern will support Refresco North America’s Engineering Group with the following:
- Support customer driven projects through evaluating and recommending packaging specifications.
- Ensure accurate packaging specification are delivered to Plant Operations, Engineering, QA and Commercial teams.
- Support collection and update plant capability, packaging specification database and Ace Project Management System
- Manage and execute a variety of projects:
- Work with Procurement and Suppliers to develop testing protocols to meet performance standards
- Perform testing of new packaging and potential packaging concepts
- Perform quality verification of packaging samples from our manufacturing facilities
- Support on-site packaging qualifications (up to 25% travel to Refresco facilities in the US, vendor production sites and/or a third party lab may be required).
