2023 Merck Animal Health Global Marketing Co-Op

The Future Talent Program features Cooperative (Co-op) education for 6 months and will include multiple marketing projects. These opportunities in our Animal Health Division can provide you with great development and a chance to see if we are the right company for your long-term goals.

The job scope and primary focus for this position is to actively support the Global Marketing Ruminants strategy across the regions and territories via coordination and execution of marketing activities including:

  • Develop content and organize projects in support of ruminant marketing team
  • Projects include product launches, program development and internal communications
  • Interaction and communication with marketing, technical services and sales team members
  • This is a full-time Co-op position for 6 months (June-December 2023)
  • The role is based in Rahway, NJ and housing must be funded by the student

Required Education & Experience:

  • Candidates must be in the process of earning a BA, BS or master’s degree in marketing, communications, animal science, agribusiness, veterinary school or related degree program
  • Candidates must have completed at least 2 years of college course work by May 2023
  • Candidate must be available to work full time for 6 months in Rahway, New Jersey
  • Candidates must be proficient in Microsoft Office suite, especially PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook
  • Candidates must have excellent communication skills, both oral and written
  • Candidates must have strong organizational and project management skills
  • Have ability to comprehend complex topics and simplify them for various audiences
  • Candidates must have critical thinking skills to carry out instructions and make decisions within scope of authority
  • Candidates must be able to use problem solving skills involving several variables
  • Candidates must have the ability to adapt communication to international audiences
  • Candidate must have a positive attitude, work well both independently and on a team and have a strong work ethic

Preferred Experience & Skills:

  • Candidates Must have experience working in consumer or professional marketing, PR or advertising
  • Candidates must have experience and understanding of animals, preferably livestock
  • Candidates must have leadership roles during college
  • Candidates must have a GPA of 3.0 or higher
  • Candidates must have multi-cultural and language experience
