2023 Summer Graduate Intern - Internal Communications

Graduate Student Program Overview-

  • 12-week summer internship program for advanced degree students in Master’s or PhD programs. This program will provide students a comprehensive and engaging experience from before your program starts to after the program ends.

We are looking for an enthusiastic 2023 Graduate Intern – Internal Communications Videographer/Video Editor who can conceptualize and produce compelling corporate videos from senior management and executives targeted towards employees. This is an energetic role that will inform and engage our global employees (and beyond) using your strategic messaging and knowledge of media. 

What you will do:
  • Drive employee engagement using multi-channel communications (focus on photo/video)
  • Manage set design, lighting, shooting and editing videos to projects completion
  • Develop storyboard projects with creative vision and strategy
  • Expand MKS’ communication channels, including corporate intranet (SharePoint)
  • Work with Communications team to support corporate narrative
  • Bring fresh, new ideas that fit the company’s vision and creatively work within brand guidelines
  • Coordinate logistics and management of a shoot including location, product and personnel

What will you bring to the team, along with your curiosity, creativity and agility is:

  • Enrolled in a Master’s or PhD Degree program for Communications, Journalism, English, or HR related field, expected graduation date of December 2023 or May 2024
  • Bachelor’s degree or other certification in motion design, interactive design, 3D animation, graphic design, or supportive disciplines
  • Experience as a video editor or interactive designer, or an equivalent mix of education and experience
  • Strong knowledge of creative video storytelling, motion graphics and sound design
  • Intermediate skills with Adobe CC (Premier Pro, After Effects, Photoshop) and Final Cut Pro, DSL product photography skills a plus
  • Willingness to collaborate across divisions, channels, and levels to help the company succeed
  • Self-motivation and ability to work independently
  • Understanding of what is relevant to global employees in current industry environment
  • Qualified candidates should be US Persons

Compensation and Benefits:
Hourly Pay Range: $27 to $49 per hour. This range is a good faith estimate of the expected salary range for this position, based on a wide range of factors including qualifications, experience and training, operational and business needs and other considerations permitted by law. At MKS, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for the role.

Benefits: MKS offers a benefits package for interns/co-ops working at least 20 hours per week, including 11 paid holidays, sick time, and 15 paid vacation days accrued on a biweekly basis.
