Communications Coordinator

JOB SUMMARY:
The Communications Coordinator supports the school by developing timely communications and materials to be shared with key stakeholders, including parents, faculty, staff, Board of Trustees, etc.  
 
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Coordinate the development of written materials including, but not limited to: 
  • Weekly digital newsletter 
  • Field trip letters 
  • Health notifications 
  • School notifications (i.e., canceled sports, availability of grades, etc.) 
  • Special event announcements 
  • Communication from the Head of School and Associate Head 
  • Execute social media strategy through the following: 
  • Create social media posts and stories based on a pre-determined content calendar
  • Draft appropriate captions 
  • Capture imagery  
  • Review and elevate comments 
  • Update website including: 
  • News section 
  • Events calendar 
  • Support the marketing needs of various departments, including School, Advancement, and Parent Relations
REQUIRED SKILLS 
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Understanding of social media platforms (Instagram and Facebook) 
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team 
  • Project and time management 
  • Understand the principles of copywriting and graphic design
  • Assist with media relations efforts (i.e., local press, trade, podcasts) 
 
DEGREE:
·      Associates degree. Bachelor's degree in Communication, Digital Marketing or Public Relations, preferred

HOURS:
Part time. Monday –Friday, 9:00am- 1:00pm, with some flexibility of hours at the discretion of the Director of Parent and Community Relations (approximately 20 hours per week)
