Chief Engineer

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Chief Engineer.  Reporting directly to the Director of Engineering, the Chief Engineer is responsible for day-to-day workflow, maintenance of computer and broadcast equipment and personnel management within the Engineering and Operations groups.

Responsibilities:
·        Group management/Communication: Ensure shift schedule is filled and followed, staff is notified of changes or equipment failure as required by role. Collaborate with department and delegate workload to ensure most timely completion of responsibilities.
·        Chief Operator: manage FCC/FAA reporting requirements and ensure that all procedures and documentation are created and maintained.
·        Broadcast Equipment Maintenance: Ensure that all broadcast-related equipment is cleaned, inspected, and repaired.
·        Broadcast Transmitter Maintenance: Perform weekly maintenance and inspection on remote transmission equipment. Safely operate and repair digital transmitters.
·        Microwave/Satellite Systems: Perform routine maintenance on antennas, feed lines, and equipment. Coordinate and instruct subcontractors for removal or installation of antennas or related broadcast equipment on transmission towers.
·        Computer/Network maintenance: Clean, inspect, upgrade, or repair computer systems and networking equipment used for infrastructure or end-user equipment.
·        On-call and emergency scenario responsibilities

Qualifications:
·        A minimum of (5) years’ experience in Broadcast Engineering or related role. (Electrical Engineering, Network Operations, Telecom, RF Engineering, Audio Engineering, Computer Science/Information Technology)
·        Experience in people management and training
·        Proficiency in evaluating, troubleshooting, installing, and maintaining broadcast equipment and IT systems.
·        Organizational skills and attention to detail
·        Dedication to quality assurance and time management
·        Hold a valid driver’s license.
·        Shift flexibility as it pertains to extended hours, nights, weekends and on-call duties.
·        Ability to work on ladders, stand for long periods of time, and lift technical equipment up to 50 lbs.
A technical degree in a related field, or equivalent work and certification are suggested but not required
