Public Relations Summer Intern

RockawayMore is a food, beverage and hospitality full-service, boutique agency specializing in developing forward-thinking strategies that move in stride with today’s changing landscape of public relations, digital marketing, and social media. Presently, RockawayMore is looking for an Intern to join our Public Relations division for the summer of 2023. Candidates interested in this internship should have excellent communication skills, demonstrate creativity and understand the importance of attending to even the smallest detail. Under the leadership and mentorship of one of our company’s assigned account executives or directors, RockawayMore interns will learn key skills pertinent to public relations, digital marketing and social media industries, particular to that of the Hospitality, food and beverage industry, our specialty. Interns will learn the value of taking responsibility and ownership, and experience the importance of collaboration across teams. This internship will include training/orientation focusing primarily on developing new skills and gaining a deeper understanding of concepts through hands-on application of the knowledge you learned in school.

This is a non-paid academic internship during which you will be expected to provide 20 hours per week. Your internship commitment starts on Monday, June 12, 2023 and will end Friday, August 11, 2023; the proposed schedule will be 4 days a week (exact days and times to be agreed upon with your division lead). 

 Duties include but are not limited to:
  • Assist with influencers research and outreach 
  • Manage database of influencer and media outlet contacts
  • Update UVM/publicity value document for media outlets
  • Media coverage updates 
  • Support the organization and updating of client-facing documents including agendas, end-of-month reporting, press tracking documents, etc.
  • Organize and maintain company and client accounts filing systems
  • Research, build and manage media and contact lists 
  • Establish new editor and influencer relationships on behalf of the company
  • Assist with drafting round-up releases for weekend guides, holidays, themes and initiatives
  • Manage calendar invites for meetings, dines and events
  • Assist with event planning, logistics and execution if needed
  • Additional duties as assigned

This is a hybrid unpaid internship, available for college credit, with opportunity for future growth at RockawayMore.
