Discover Universal, Video
JOB SUMMARY: The Intern will assist with the creation and publishing of Discover Universal video content from brainstorming ideas and talking points to attending video shoots. They will also provide and collect feedback and analyze results. The purpose of the role is to help the Intern learn what it means to be a content creator and a marketer for a major brand. They will develop as a professional, honing their organizational, strategic thinking, and production skills.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Attends video shoots and rehearsals.
- Research talking points.
- Assists with providing and collecting feedback.
- Works with other DU Video team members to publish content.
- Assesses and interprets YouTube analytics.
- Writes blogs when needed.
- Understands and actively participates in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy, procedures, training, and Team Member involvement activities.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Discover Universal, Podcast
JOB SUMMARY: Intern will assist with the Discover Universal podcast from brainstorming topics and ideas, assisting with show flows, writing show notes, assisting with listening to episodes and providing feedback. The purpose of this role will help the intern learn about content creation in the audio space as well as producing content for audio and video. They will also learn organizational skills, marketing, and hone in on their writing skills.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Researching and writing notes for upcoming podcast episodes.
- Attend podcast recording sessions and assist where needed.
- Assist with editing episodes and providing feedback.
- Write show notes and blog posts when needed.
- Work closely with the Executive Producer to assist with publishing podcasts.
- Understands and actively participates in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy, procedures, training, and Team Member involvement activities.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Discover Universal, Editorial Writer
JOB SUMMARY: The feature writer on the Discover Universal Blog team will play a role in contributing to the overall editorial strategy and execution of high quality and rich storytelling with a focus on articles that build our brand. They’ll help establish and sustain our brand tone in a way that connects emotionally with our customers and assist in executing a guest-first editorial content strategy. This experience will help the intern hone in on their writing, interviewing, and editing skills, while polishing their ability to recognize stories with high potential for provocative, compelling storytelling.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop, write, and edit news/evergreen content, planning series, destination guides, guest stories, and more.
- Participate in editorial brainstorms and weekly editorial meetings.
- Assist with the management of the Discover Universal Blog as a digital platform – upload content, resize images, and make sure our homepage is updated.
- Work with Senior Editor on SEO initiatives and best practices.
- Understands and actively participates in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy, procedures, training, and Team Member involvement activities.

Assistant Editor
JOB SUMMARY: The Intern will support the post-production team in the creation of high quality and compelling video content for marketing. The Intern will contribute at multiple stages in the post-production pipeline to optimize editorial work and video asset curation. The Intern will have opportunities to learn, create and collaborate in a highly productive video production environment that strives to push the boundaries in creative storytelling.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Works with editors, content creators, producers and the associate creative director to create compelling video content for Universal Destinations and Experiences.
- Supports mid funnel video projects for Content + Engagement.
- Learns professional workflows and create actual content that is used by the sales and marketing team at Universal Orlando.
- Assists in managing the ingest of video assets and assembling edits based on script notes and guidance from content creators.
- Provides edit support throughout a project life-span by aggregating footage, creating string-outs, editing, and managing color prep and layback for various types video products.
- Supports the video asset management process by helping identify selects and creating string-outs/sizzle reels for creative review.
- Makes edits and updates to existing video content, spots, trailers, promos, etc.
- May be tasked to work with lead editors to edit supporting teasers and promos based on original long-form content.
- Understands and actively participates in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy, procedures, training, and Team Member involvement activities.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION:
- In pursuit of an Associate, Bachelor or Graduate degree at an Accredited Institution with current class standing of Junior or above.
- Recent graduates will not be eligible for this program.
- Minimum cumulative 3.0 GPA is preferred.
- An official transcript may be required upon request.
- Preferred majors include: Film & Video, Motion Design, Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Social Media, Television
EXPERIENCE:
- Prior internship experience related to position is preferred.
- 1 – 3 years professional experience working in a high-volume post-production environment preferred.
- Has prior content creation experience.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
Preferable skills for success in role include but not limited to:
- Experience in production and writing.
- Content creation and marketing experience.
- Must be efficient in Microsoft Office Programs including, but not limited to: Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Must be proficient with MAC and the Adobe Creative Suite, especially in Premiere. After Effects knowledge is a plus.
- Strong interpersonal skills, problem-solving abilities and organization.
- Exceptional attention to detail.
- Superior written & verbal communication skills.
- Work in a fast-paced environment and adhere to deadlines.
- Ability to work autonomously and/or in teams.
- Consistent attendance.

- This internship will be an hybrid experience, based in our Orlando offices.
- Interns must be currently pursuing a degree at an accredited university and must have a graduation date later than December 2023.
