Internship – Digital Marketing Opportunities (Fall 2023)

Digital Product Operations

JOB SUMMARY: Support the intake, delivery and execution of tactics related to the Scrum Teams they are assigned to. The intern role will support the Marketing Product Owner with the communications with stakeholders, intake and management of projects and ensuring the timely delivery. The internship role will provide exposure and mentorship for the above duties, foster Marketing project management best practices including communication with the team, participating in Agile Ceremonies, understanding the Agile processes and nuances as well as working extensively with our suite of tech systems (Workfront, Microsoft, MediaValet, etc.)

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Manages the proper intake and management of marketing projects assigned to the Scrum Team.
  • Uses Workfront and communicates via Microsoft Teams
  • Attends and participates in Agile ceremonies.
  • Follows project timelines, helps to identify and remove blockers, and finds efficiencies.
  • Helps to establish and document department and role SOPs with leadership.
  • Understands and actively participates in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy, procedures, training, and Team Member involvement activities.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Web and eCommerce Marketing

JOB SUMMARY: This role will introduce the intern to how our business uses the UOR and USH website and mobile app to market to consumers at all stages of their journey with us, and how we can leverage data-driven insights to develop strategic enhancements to these platforms. They will learn about eCommerce, data analytics, strategy, and cross-functional collaboration.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Collects and analyzes data to support various projects and programs.
  • Attends meetings with partners and stakeholders.
  • Audits the UOR and USH websites and mobile apps for enhancement opportunities.
  • Develops pitch decks for projects.
  • Ensures tactical execution through project management system.
  • Documents team processes and best practices through SOPs.
  • Understands and actively participates in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy, procedures, training, and Team Member involvement activities.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Digital Strategy 

JOB SUMMARY: The Digital Customer Experience (CX) Strategy Intern will support the development of programs and capabilities for Universal Orlando guests. By analyzing insights and recommending solutions, our intern will have a key role in designing, prioritizing and delivering impactful customer experiences across the consumer journey. Our intern will develop a deep understanding of how a cross-functional group of partners, including eCommerce, CRM and UXUI, work together to optimize and transform Lead Generation, Data Capture, Website and Mobile App Functionality and Digital Communications.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Analyzes and reviews data-based insights and recommend solutions to optimize consumer journeys and build user stories for website and mobile app.
  • Participates in the development of New Prospect, Trip Conversion and Booked Guest programs by being an active contributor in cross-functional team meetings.
  • Assists with preparation of Marketing Templates & Playbooks.
  • Assists in developing presentations and capturing feedback from Introspective sessions; help lead weekly work sessions.
  • Research Digital Customer Experience best practices and trends across industries.
  • Understands and actively participates in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy, procedures, training, and Team Member involvement activities.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION:
  • In pursuit of an Associate, Bachelor or Graduate degree at an Accredited Institution with current class standing of Junior or above.
  • Recent graduates will not be eligible for this program.
  • Minimum cumulative 3.0 GPA is preferred.
  • An official transcript may be required upon request.
  • Preferred majors include: Marketing, Communications, Advertising, Business Management, Hospitality, Public Relations

EXPERIENCE: 0-3 years marketing experience or equivalent combinations of education and experience. Prior internship experience related to position is preferred.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
  • Preferable skills for success in role include but not limited to:
  • Experience with project management and project management software
  • Experience and exposure to Scrum/Agile
  • Data Analytics experience
  • Highly Organized, detail oriented, strong written/verbal communication skills
  • Must be efficient in Microsoft Office Programs including, but not limited to: Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, problem-solving abilities and organization.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • Superior written & verbal communication skills.
  • Work in a fast-paced environment and adhere to deadlines.
  • Ability to work autonomously and/or in teams.
  • Consistent attendance.

  • This internship will be a hybrid experience, based in our Orlando offices.
  • Interns must be currently pursuing a degree at an accredited university, and must have a graduation date later than December 2023.
  • Universal Orlando does not provide housing. Interns are responsible for their own housing and transportation.
