Internship – Social Media, Guest Services (Fall 2023)

Fall 2023 Semester:

JOB SUMMARY: This role will provide the opportunity to join the leaders in the Social Media space in the Hospitality & Theme Park industry. Focusing on implementation of new channels such as TikTok, IG, and WhatsApp, the intern will be part of the team that begins to incorporate these platforms into the Universal Guest Services Social media scope. Intern will learn about the different aspects of the Universal Orlando Guest Services Communications Team including going through In-Park Guest Services training to learn and experience how to respond to Guests based on different social media platforms within our Universal Brand.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Assists with the implementation and guidance of these Go Live activated platforms: TikTok, IG, and Whats App.
  • Monitors and analyzes these new social media platforms, identifying areas of opportunity such as volume, quality, reach, and response times.
  • Identifies opportunities to improve Social Listening on video content.
  • Assists with building on trends in the Guest sentiment through monitoring social media.
  • Supports the execution of a roadmap that establishes a multi-year plan.
  • Develops trend analysis and social listening skills in order to provide suggestions for improvement to our current procedures.
  • Reviews industry trends and best practices with the goal of making improvements to the service we provide Guests.
  • Reports to leadership on new project implementation, launch calendar, success metrics, milestones, learnings, and recommendations.
  • Analyzes industry trends to identify new opportunities to build/sustain growth based on competitor’s Social Media presence.
  • Collaborate with various partners across the resort to improve overall Guest Experience.
  • Understands and actively participates in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy, procedures, training, and Team Member involvement activities.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION:
  • In pursuit of an Associate, Bachelor or Graduate degree at an Accredited Institution with current class standing of Junior or above.
  • Recent graduates will not be eligible for this program.
  • Minimum cumulative 3.0 GPA is preferred.
  • An official transcript may be required upon request.
  • Preferred majors include: Communications, Public Relations, Social Media.

EXPERIENCE: Prior Guest Services, Social Media, and/or internship experience related to position is preferred.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
  • Preferable skills for success in role include but not limited to:
  • Must be efficient in Microsoft Office Programs including, but not limited to: Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, problem-solving abilities and organization.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • Superior written & verbal communication skills.
  • Work in a fast-paced environment and adhere to deadlines.
  • Ability to work autonomously and/or in teams.
  • Consistent attendance.

  • This internship will be an in-person experience, based in our Orlando offices.
  • Interns must be currently pursuing a degree at an accredited university, and must have a graduation date later than December 2023.
  • Universal Orlando does not provide housing. Interns are responsible for their own housing and transportation.
