Jr. Graphic Designer - TEMP

Position Summary
The Jr. Graphic Designer will provide essential support to the Sr. Graphic Designer in the creation of engaging and visually appealing graphics for AWS. This role entails assisting with the development and execution of various design projects, including illustrations, logos, layouts, and photos. The primary objective is to effectively communicate the organization's message through compelling visual storytelling, capturing the attention of viewers at first glance.

Essential Duties
Ø Work with the Sr. Graphic Designer to assist in visually representing the messaging and presence of AWS in all outbound marketing activities.
Ø Translate strategic direction into high-quality design within AWS brand identity.
Ø Have thorough understanding of layout design and material details, such as style, font, photographs, animation, and video to assist with the development of original printed and digital marketing collateral for AWS.
Ø Contribute to the brainstorming and development of design content and collateral.
Ø Update and maintain internal databases to include design assets, photography, and video.
Ø Obtain input from Sr. Graphic Designer, and marketing management, to ensure original designs meet organizational standards and brand expectations which represent AWS accurately.
Ø Work independently and cooperatively on multiple projects with Sr. Graphic Designer, and marketing team, meeting deadlines, and budget constraints, and scheduling project implantation based on workload, which may include simultaneous projects.
 Ø Maintain messaging and branding consistency in all activities both externally and internally.
Ø Provide assistance with updating and maintaining AWS Brand Book.
Ø Ensure all graphic representations are in accordance with the AWS Brand Book.
Ø Meet professional obligations through efficient work habits such as, meeting deadlines, honoring schedules, coordinating resources and meetings in an effective and timely manner, and demonstrate respect for others.

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Ø Proficient in the Adobe Creative Suite: Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, AfterEffects, Acrobat Pro, and Dreamweaver
Ø Proficiency in use of the following: 3D software, Autodesk Suite, Google SketchUp, and Blender
Ø Proficient working with both Windows and Mac operating systems
Ø Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
Ø Ability to excel in a detail-oriented, deadline-driven environment
Ø Ability to prioritize tasks while maintaining constant level of high quality
Ø Excellent organizational skills
Ø Ability to schedule and meet deadlines
Ø Ability to be self-motivated
Ø Ability to be a strong team player and work with multiple employees to achieve deadlines
Required Education and Experience
Ø Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Graphic Design, Art, Fine Arts, or equivalent field.
Ø Five years or more experience as a graphic artist. Strong portfolio showing excellent computer design skills in print and web, and video. Understanding of color separations and process colors. Have a high interest in social trends.

Working Conditions and Required Physical Abilities
 
This position is located in a quiet to moderately noisy indoor office environment.  
Individuals in this type of position must have the use of sensory skills in order to effectively communicate with other employees and the public through use of the telephone and personal contact as normally defined by the ability to see, read, talk, sit, stand, hear, use of fingers in order to handle, feel or operate objects and write. Must have the physical capabilities to move about the office and to effectively use and operate various items of office related equipment, such as but not limited to personal computer, calculator, copy and fax machines. Must be able to remain seated at a keyboard or desk for extended periods. Must be able to lift, carry, and/or push/pull articles weighing up to 20 lbs.
