Salary: $80,096 - $107,635 Annually

POSITION PURPOSE / IMPORTANT APPLICATION INFORMATION
The Landscape Designer ($80,096 - $100,109) is responsible for the design and project administration, including construction and budget management of parks, open spaces, trails, historic properties, rights-of-way, facilities and other public improvements. Duties of the position include, but are not limited to, development and site plan review for impacts to the Parks, Recreation, and Libraries Department; coordinates small projects, research, data analysis, and makes recommendations on the City's parks, open spaces, natural resources and general planning efforts. It is distinguished from the Landscape Architect in that the assigned duties do not require the registration as a professional Landscape Architect. At this level, employees have the required educational background but do not possess a Landscape Architect license and may have limited work experience.
 
The Landscape Architect ($86,109 - $107,635 ) is responsible for the design and project administration, including construction and budget management of parks, open spaces, trails, historic properties, rights-of-way, facilities, and other public improvements. Duties of the position include, but are not limited to, development and site plan review for impacts to the Parks, Recreation, and Libraries Department; coordinates small projects, research, data analysis, and makes recommendations on the City's parks, open spaces, natural resources, and general planning efforts.

Required:
  • Graduation from a college or university with an accredited program in Landscape Architecture, Planning, Civil Engineering or related field
  • A minimum of three (3) years of related experience in Park design and construction management with at least 1 year working for a public agency in this capacity
  • Valid driver’s license and safe driving record
  • Proficient use of Photoshop, InDesign, Sketch Up and other computer graphics
Preferred:
  • Strong planning abilities
  • Familiarity with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) requirements
  • Master’s degree in Landscape Architecture
  • Graphic capabilities with experience in AutoCAD, Arc View GIS (or equivalent)
 
Landscape Architect
Required:
  • Graduation from a four (4)-year college or university with a degree or major course work in Landscape Architecture
  • Landscape Architect licensure as required under Colorado state law
  • A minimum of three (3) years related experience in park design and construction management with at least one (1) year working for a public agency in this capacity
  • Familiarity with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) requirements
  • Graphic capabilities with experience in AutoCAD, Arc View GIS (or equivalent)
  • Valid driver’s license and safe driving record
Preferred:
  • Strong planning abilities
  • Proficiency using AutoCAD, ArcView GIS and Microsoft Office products including PowerPoint, Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Proficient use of Photoshop, InDesign, Sketch Up and other computer graphics
  • Experience working in Municipal Park and Recreation Systems
  • Master’s degree in Landscape Architecture
