Mechanical Engineering Co-op

This position is part of Novanta’s ATI Industrial Automation business unit. ATI is the world’s leading developer of robotic end of arm technologies. Primary Responsibilities
·      Design, build, and debug test hardware used in Mechanical verification testing.
·      Develop Mechanical test plans for product verification and quantification of characteristics.
·      Write reports documenting testing results.
·      Propose and/or implement design changes to existing product.
·      Evaluate nonconformance on components and/or assemblies.
·      Collaborate across a wide variety of organizations (Engineering, Quality, Applications Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Purchasing)


Required Experience, Education, Skills, Training and Competencies
·      Ability to utilize SolidWorks (preferable) or other 3D aided drafting software.
·      Ability to use simple hand tools.
·      Experience with standard measurement and test equipment. (Calipers, Dial Indicators, Load Cells, etc....)
·      Good knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
·      Good communication skills.
·      Due to ITAR compliance, this position requires candidates to be a US citizen or green card holder
·      Must have dependable transportation.
·      GPA of 3.5+

Management Prefers
·        Experience and/or participation with a collegiate Motorsports team. Not required.
·        Good SolidWorks skills.
·        Good drawing practices, including application of GD&T
