Energy Sustainability Intern/Co-op - Summer 2024 - Massachusetts

We are currently seeking a motivated and talented Energy & Sustainability Intern to join our team during Summer 2024. The intern will work with the Energy & Sustainability Team to provide support for projects. This position will be responsible for helping with the LEED design of new, and modifications to existing infrastructure systems within the facility for a diverse array of project types ranging from corporate, industrial, academic, multifamily, mission critical, and laboratories.
We’re seeking driven college students interested in MEP who:
  • Want to learn from senior MEP Engineers in HVAC, Plumbing, Fire & Protection, Electrical and Sustainability
  • Able to work in the Summer 2024 in either the Boston (on public transport) or Burlington, MA (would require vehicle) offices.
  • Currently enrolled in an Engineering or related undergraduate program and looking to obtain an internship (~3 Months) or Co-op (3-6 Months)
  • Full-time availability required for in-person work, consisting of 40 hours per week.

Position Summary:
The Energy and Sustainability Engineering Intern will work closely with our team of experienced engineers to support various design and consulting projects focused on energy efficiency, sustainability, and renewable energy. The intern will gain hands-on experience in energy modeling, sustainability consulting, and renewable energy analysis. The intern will also assist with drafting, calculations, and project coordination.
Responsibilities:
  • Assist with energy modeling and analysis for building systems
  • Perform sustainability consulting for building projects
  • Conduct renewable energy analysis and feasibility studies
  • Assist with drafting and documentation of energy and sustainability systems
  • Coordinate with project team members to ensure successful project completion
  • Attend project meetings and participate in project discussions
Requirements:
  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field with a focus on Energy, Sustainability, or Renewable Energy
  • Strong academic record with a minimum GPA of 3.0
  • Familiarity with energy modeling software
  • Coursework in Environmental Sciences, Energy, Sustainability, HVAC, or related
  • LEED experience preferred
  • MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint software proficiency
  • SolidWorks Simulation, Revit and AutoCAD a plus
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work well in a team environment
  • Strong initiative and problem solving abilities
  • Outstanding attention to detail
  • Time management skills, with the ability to handle various responsibilities while meeting strict deadlines.
