Dell ISG Hardware Engineering Intern
Join us as a Hardware Engineering Intern on our Infrastructure Solutions Group team in possible locations of Austin/Round Rock, TX, Hopkinton, MA to do the best work of your career and make a profound social impact.

What you’ll achieve

The Infrastructure Solutions Group (ISG) organization delivers the essential infrastructure for organizations to build their digital future, transform IT from core to cloud to edge and protect their most important asset: information! This includes understanding and rapidly responding to market requirements, effectively planning and developing future innovations, and leveraging the power of the industry’s most complete portfolio.
You will:

  • Immerse yourself in our ISG internship experience as a member of an intern team leading an end-to-end project that will make a profound impact to our ISG Strategy.
  • Be supported by technical subject matter experts, mentors and peer advisors that will provide day to day support, grow your Dell network, and assimilate you into the Dell and ISG culture.
This intern program is designed to shape the future of ISG’s Software Engineering Rotation Program. For interns who receive a full time offer, you will have the opportunity to join our Rotation Program. You can learn more about the program here

Essential Requirements:

  • Working towards a bachelor’s degree in computer, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, Technology or Computer Science related degree
  • At least one scripting language such as Python, PERL, or bash
  • Understanding of hardware and software interactions, and able to apply this understanding to resolve issues
  • Reading and understanding engineering specifications, data sheets and other technical documents
  • Strong mechanical aptitude, experience in design, thermals and/or controls; experience in Creo/Solidworks, Flowtherm/Icepack, and/or Simulink modeling
Desirable Requirements

  • Direct experience with x86 or ARM computer architectures and chipsets, schematic tools, PCB layout tools, oscilloscopes, and signal generators
  • Various I/O protocols, such as PCIe, SAS, SATA, Gigabit Ethernet and IPSec; High speed design experience (> 1Gbs)

Compensation
Dell is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The pay range for this position is $18.63 - $38.41 depending on location.
