Engineering Intern – Water Resources

We are hiring for Engineering Interns to join our Transportation team at our office in Newark, DE.  This role will be focused on water resource engineering projects.

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Perform engineering analysis, design, and review of Infrastructure improvement projects with a focus on water resources.
  • Contribute to stormwater management:  hydrologic and hydraulic (H&H) analysis, drainage, erosion & sediment control, and scour countermeasure design.
  • Additional duties may be assigned, as needed.

 

Experience with hydrologic and hydraulic software such as WinTR-55, HydroCAD, StormCAD and HEC-RAS as well as  Microstation and ArcGIS experience is a plus.

 

 

Basic Requirement:

In order to qualify, we need you to be enrolled in a relevant Engineering-oriented field of study (e.g.:  Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, etc.) at an ABET-accredited institution.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working with stormwater management design calculations; experience utilizing Hydrology and Hydraulics (H&H) tools like WinTR-55, HydroCAD, and/or HEC-RAS is a plus!
  • Proficiency with engineering tools (e.g.:  CADD, GIS, etc.); exposure to MicroStation and/or ArcGIS is a plus!
  • Proficiency on basic office software applications, especially Microsoft Office 365.
  • Excellent organizational skills, especially with a proven ability to work in an energetic and challenging work environment on a variety of projects; this person will be expected to collaborate with our team while demonstrating a self-motivated demeanor and effective multi-tasking skills.
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal & written).
